Wanee Fest announces chock-full 2011 lineup

Wanee Festival has managed to set the bar high for the entire festival season with their release of their 2011 lineup for the event that is to take place on the weekend of April 14. The festival, held at the beautiful Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL has a long tradition that is steeped in Allman Brothers‘ history. Even WSP‘s Dave Schools never misses a chance to catch the Allmans when at the festival, as he mentioned to Ian Rawn in an Honest Tune interview in September of 2010.  It is a cornerstone in what continues to be a growing field of festivals cropping up across the country.

Steering somewhat away from its roots as a purist festival for southern jam-rock lovers, the lineup this year presents with an increased amount of eclecticism (ex. Lotus) and is sure to be a winner for anyone who decides to participate in the festivities.

With Allman Brothers topping the list followed by Widespread Panic and the band that stole the show at this year’s Christmas Jam celebration, Steve Miller Band, there simply is not an unnoticeable act until the bottom of the under card which probably supports the theory that there will be new musical act discoveries made throughout the weekend that is slammed with notables.
