he Vortex Music Festival, which takes place June 27th & 28th at the Asheville Civic Center, is proud to announce that the Moog Foundation will be sponsoring an additional stage at the festival, featuring some of the top up and coming producers and live electronica acts from all over the US and Canada. Some of the acts include Kero (Ontario), Project 313 (Detroit), Sensory Overload (Philadelphia) and Rex Sepulveda, who founded D records with world renowned DJ Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman).
The Vortex Music Festival is thrilled to be involved with the Moog Foundation (founded by Asheville native Bob Moog), which among many things, offers endowed music scholarships to students interested in furthering their pursuit of education in the field of electronic music, as well as raising money for the Bob Moog Museum, which houses Bob’s personal and professional archives, including writings, photos, instruments, schematic drawings, articles written by and about him, an extensive collection of electronic music, and other Moog artifacts. The goal is to make this an educational, interactive museum open to students, researchers, music historians, and for all people interested in engaging with the Moog legacy.
