They Might Be Giants
September 29. 2011
On the strength of their 15th album, Join Us, alternative rock band They Might Be Giants pulled their bus into Richmond for a show at the stately old theater, The National.
The quirky and often snarky nature of their songs has grown a loyal following, and the veteran music maker’s fans were treated to music spanning most of TMBG’s catalog as founding members John Linnell and John Flansburgh guided their band through TMBG classics and fresh numbers alike.
Whether rattling off songs of old like “Birdhouse In Your Soul†or Join Us material like “Can’t Keep Johnny Down†or “Spoiler Alert,†the well-executed multimedia experience (that also included a mid-show sock puppet extravaganza), TMBG proved to all in attendance why they have managed to remain successful for as many years as they have… and why they are showing no signs of slowing anytime soon.
Their tour continues all through the US into March, you can find all the details here.
