The Nighthawks : American Landscape

nighthawks_americanlanscape.jpgThere is no tag line that perfectly describes The Nighthawks.  Suffice to say, the band that has been rocking fans for three-and-half decades is back one more time and remains one of the best bar bands on the American blues circuit.

On their latest release, American Landscape, The Nighthawks bring their Jack Daniels-attitude to songs by Dylan (“She Belongs to Me” and “Most Likely You Go Your Way and I’ll Go Mine”), Ike Turner (“Matchbox), and Tom Waits (“Down in the Hole”), as well as “Fishin’ Hole Theme,” best known as the theme to the Andy Griffith show.   Though today’s version of the band may not represent the greatest Nighthawks ever to take the stage, the band remains as fun as ever; sure to get the dance floors moving each time their bar room blues are played.

American Landscape is out now on Powerhouse Records.
