The Infamous Stringdusters have been firing on all cylinders since racking up prestigious accolades at the 2007 IBMA awards for their debut album, Fork in the Road.
Since this acclaimed release, the band has spent considerable time on the road sharing the stage with legends like Sam Bush, Del McCoury and David Grisman, and other touring peers like Yonder Mountain String Band and Railroad Earth. Their high-energy brand of progressive bluegrass continues to sell albums and sell-out tours, and with each and every project, they moves the bar higher and collectively hones their talent, making them one of the most polished bluegrass bands touring today.
The re-release of Silver Sky as a deluxe edition solidifies the band’s reputation, now primed for mass consumption with a fantastic version of the Grateful Dead’s “He’s Gone†and the live album We’ll Do It Live. This is the very first time that both albums have been available in stores nationwide. We’ll Do It Live is currently one of my favorite single-disc live albums as it captures the true feel of a Stringdusters show by highlighting their improvisational capabilities.
The Silver Sky Deluxe Edition is worth the price to any fan simply for the live album, but this release is also an excellent entry point for anyone just becoming familiar with the Infamous Stringdusters.
Silver Sky Deluxe Edition is out now on High Country Recordings & SCI Fidelity.
