Surfer Blood will embark on a US tour in June, joining The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Hooray for Earth.
Surfer Blood’s critically acclaimed debut record Astro Coast is an album’s worth of catchy, summery indie songs that even the most hook-laden power pop band would rightfully be jealous of. Still in their early 20’s, Surfer Blood has already appeared on late night television and has received rave reviews from publications such as Spin, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair among many others. The New York Times spoke highly of the band’s debut Astro Coast by calling it, “An endearing melange of 1950s chord progressions, Afropop guitar filigree and grunge buildups heading for power-pop choruses." While online tastemakers Pitchfork called the album “irresistibly catchy." Astro Coast is out now on Kanine Records. Surfer Blood recently released a limited Record Store day 7" for "Take It Easy" live featuring Marnie Stern on Kanine. Surfer Blood will release a "Swim" 7" featuring the Allen of Baroness remix later this month and is currently touring the UK.
