Comagun Music, in conjunction with Glitterglu Productions, is proud to present the 3rd annual Summer Soulstice Festival to kick off the summer music season in Asheville, NC. The indoor/outdoor event takes place June 19th and 20th at Club Nashwa, Hookah Joe’s, and on the outdoor stage outside the two clubs.
This year’s line up features the Alabama-based psychedlic disco duo, Boombox, Asheville’s own Afromotive, and a who’s who of up and coming acts such as the Mantras, AZ-IZ (featuring members of Dubconscious), the New Familiars and many more.
The music begins on Friday night w/ Boombox kicking it off at Club Nashwa. Boombox is Producer/Engineer/DJ/Drummer Russ Randolph and Producer/DJ/Vocalist/Guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux. The Duo, who blend thumping disco house with solid songwriting and soundscaping guitars, will set the tone for an energetic and uplifting weekend. DJ Ginza will cap off the evening with a late night set in Club Nashwa.
Music begins outdoors on Saturday, June 20th and late night sets will be indoors later that night. Headliners for Saturday include Asheville natives, Afromotive. The 8-piece afrobeat band has been building an army of fans throughout the US and feaures thirty-third generation djembe player Adama Dembele from Cote d‘Ivoire, West Africa. Other notable acts include the New Familiars, Jen and the Juice, and Echo Mountain Recording Artists, the Trainwreks. A full line up of music continues outdoors on Sunday as well. The event organizers are also happy to include a line up of childrens music performances starting at noon on Sunday.
