Roosevelt Collier for King of the Blues

Roosevelt Collier, pedal steel guitarist for the Orlando/Miami based sacred steel band, The Lee Boys, is one of five finalists in the Guitar Center King of the Blues “Best Undiscovered Blues Guitarists in the Nation” competition.   Over 4,000 blues guitar players from around the country competed in a series of local and regional challenges.   Collier, who won the regional finals in Memphis, will perform at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 PM, competing for a grand prize of $25,000.  Joe Bonamassa and Pete Anderson are the headlining artists on the bill.  Tickets are $20.00 and available via Ticket Master.  For more information:  http://gc.guitarcenter.com/kingoftheblues/

The Lee Boys is a sextet that transcends the boundaries set by musical genres.  An energetic blend of R&B, gospel, hip-hop, rock and country driven by the Collier’s pedal steel guitar, they have toured with the Mississippi Allstars, Bob Weir, Victor Wooten, Derek Trucks, Susan Tesdeschi, Los Lobos, The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule and more. The Lee Boys has performed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and on the prestigious syndicated radio program Mountain Stage.  They have graced the stages at the nations’ biggest music festivals, including Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Austin City Limits Fest, Summercamp, High Sierra, DefFest, Cornerstone Festival, Philadelphia Folk Fest, Voodoo Music Festival and more.
