Robert Earl Keen
November 20, 2008
On rare occasion we let something slip thru the cracks to the cutting room floor that you all want to see. Thanks in part to some dedicated Robert Earl Keen fan requests, here is a photo gallery of the Ryman show.
It was a great night of Texas music in Tennessee. There is probably no other place where the Lone Star and Volunteer States make such harmonious sense than the mother church of country music, The Ryman Auditorium.
Robert wore his Aggie proudly on his sleeve as his told stories of growing up in Texas, attending Texas A&M and writing music with his friends. Fans were treated to greats like “Going Nowhere Blues,” “The Road Goes On Forever” and “Not a Drop of Rain.” Yet nothing stirred the rowdy crowd like the fitting holiday number “Merry Christmas From the Famiy.”
Robert and his band of extremely talented sidemen put on a magical show of heartfelt Americana music. Hopefully these photos do the performance justice, but I for sure highly recommend you go see this American story man the next chance you get.
