Perpetual Groove announce additional fall dates, Halloween theme and location

IMR_8957.jpgOver the years, Perpetual Groove Halloween shows have yielded many a sordid tale. The band takes Halloween to heart. In the past, themes have included Karate Kid, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and, amongst others, a new world order theme that centered in the 1976 film, The Network and its quotable quotes including "I’m as mad as hell and I‘m not going to take this anymore"

This year, the band has announced the theme will be "PERPle Rain," a tribute to the 1984 cult classic and its soundtrack by Prince & The Revolution. The evening is sure to be interspersed with not only the gems from the album that rock scholars consistently rank as one of the best albums of all time, but also hilarious Perpetual Groove delivery of the numerous quotes from "The Kid," who was played by Prince in the film. Just picture a Brock Butler to Adam Pery rattling of the classic exchange between The Kid and Apollonia …

Apollonia: Will you help me? The Kid: Nope… Wanna know why? Because you wouldn’t pass the initiation. Apollonia: What initiation? The Kid: Well, for starters, you have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

We can only hope that whoever is delivering the lines of Apollonia doesn’t strip down to their skivvies as happened in the film.

The show will take place in Birmingham, AL at WorkPlay Theatre and is sure to sell out. Tickets and details are available now through WorkPlay and
