Though many were surprised when Langerado announced its return this year, the lack of attention paid to the event’s cancellation is perhaps the best indicator that the festival that — at one time — was becoming a staple on the jam-festival circuit was not getting the support that it would have required for the show to go on as scheduled.
With a nice lineup slated (including Trey Anastasio Band, Ween, Ben Harper, Thievery Corporation) and a triumphant return to Markham Park, many had hoped that the festival would once again stake its claim as a post-season go-to event.
Maybe it was the fact that Death Cab for Cutie was atop the aforementioned lineup? Maybe it was the sluggish economy or the onslaught of festivals to choose from these days? Who knows? All we know is that today (according to the festival’s website) "BOROS Entertainment has regretfully cancelled Langerado." For refund information, click here .
