Jimmy Herring Takes to Road with Two New Bands

While Widespread Panic has yet to announce any 2009 shows, lead guitarist Jimmy Herring remains busy as usual.  Next week, Herring will debut with a new band, Trigger Hippy, on February 7 at the Cox Capital Theatre in Macon, GA.  Trigger Hippy is also comprised of guitarist Audely Freed (formerly of the Black Crowes, Blue Floyd, the Jakob Dylan band, and the Dixie Chicks), drummer Steve Gorman (also of the Black Crowes), and bassist-vocalist Nick Govrik (Highwater).

In April, Herring will launch the first leg of a tour in support of his recently released CD Lifeboat.  The band will be comprised of his fellow Aquarium Rescue Unit alumni Oteil Burbridge (bass) and Jeff Sipe (drums), as well as Greg Osby (saxophone) and Scott Kinsey (keyboards).
