There is no doubt that Jackie Greene has grown out of the initial image that many jam scenesters garnered of him when he first graced the stage with Phil Lesh and Friends in 2007. With six albums under his belt including the most recent, Till The Light Comes, the 30 year old Greene is a seasoned songwriter with a remarkable voice that channels authentic Americana.
With all of this said, the loudest cheers of resounding approval came on this Brooklyn night when Greene rattled off covers of the Grateful Dead’s "Sugaree," "Scarlet Begonias" and "New Speedway Boogie." The first two saw Joe Russo (Furthur) take a spot behind Bruce Spencer’s kit.
Photographer Vernon Webb was on the scene to capture images from the event.
