We chose photos from the month of April and you decided (via our Facebook page) which one you liked the best.
The support was overwhelming and hats go off first of all to you (readers, voters, and extended family) and second of all to all of our contributing photographers who were featured in the month’s "contest."
This month the competition was stiff and came down to the wire. Alas, there can only be one "winner" and that one is (for the second month in a row) Mr. Rex Thomson of Rex-A-Vision who wowed us all with his shot of 7 Walkers’ and Grateful Dead founder Bill Kreutzmann. From the moment our editorial staff saw this photo, we loved it. Apparently you guys and gals did as well.
It truly is a fantastic photo.
As a result of your votes, Rex will walk away with a small token of our appreciation and recognition of a job well done– a RS-7 R Camera Strap from Black Rapid (see video below). We encourage all of our phototographer readers to check out Black Rapid. The strap will dramatically assist in both the comfort and speed that concert photography requires. Lugging heavy photo gear can be quite tiresome especially at festivals and Black Rapid products greatly aid in this.
The month of May is well underway and we will be releasing the first "Photos of the Week" in this week’s Week in Review later today (5/6). We predict that the competition is only going to get better as we all cruise into summer.
There will now be a rule that the same photographer cannot win two months in a row…sorry Rex. We love ya, but c’mon!
Just as the case was last month, these photos will be placed in the "Photo of the Month" vote at the end of May…and ultimately in the "Photo of the Year" contest.
Once again, congratulations Rex! And thanks to everyone for their continued support of our little labor of love, Honest Tune!
