Hangout Beach Music & Arts Fest Announces initial 2012 Lineup

With much speculation and countless message board guesses preceding it, today, via Facebook and its website, the Hangout Beach Music & Arts Festival announced the initial lineup for its third installment that will take place on the sandy white beaches of Gulf Shores, AL on May 18, 19 & 20.

Honest Tune is unclear as to when other acts will be announced but are clear on the fact that an additional headliner will be announced soon.

As we will be this year, over the past two years, Honest Tune has been at the Hangout in a major way and the event has historically set the bar high going into the summer festival season with lineups for both its freshman year — with Trey Anastasio, John Legend, Alison Krauss, Zac Brown, Gov’t Mule, The Roots, Franti — and sophomore year — with Paul Simon, Foo Fighters, Widespread Panic, Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket, Pretty Lights — that were hard to top for those that followed.

In so doing, they have set the bar high for themselves, so the big question for fans was: “Could they outdo themselves yet again in their junior year?”
