Blueground Undergrass
The Pour House

Jeff Mosier and Blueground Undergrass have gone through a line-up carousel the last year, but the ride stopped in Charleston for a great show at the Pour House.  Mosier’s brought back most of the original line-up, including brother Johnny Mosier (guitar), Mark van Allen (pedal & lap steel), and Kyle Spark (bass).

The band threw down in the way that only Blueground can – a mash-up of rock, bluegrass, blues…well, it’s just not definable.  The show included marvelous takes on Blueground standards like "Ole Love, Ole Tune" and "Dublin Blues," and great versions of cover songs like "Deep Ellum Blues" and "Black Muddy River."

Most of all, it was vintage Blueground – Mosier’s banjo work and van Allen’s steel were as good as ever, and not enough can be said about the bass playing of Berklee-trained Kyle Spark.  He’s got great chops.
