Ben Arnold conveys a lot with his most recent release . Starting with the lead off track, “Suckin’ Honey,” he pouts and pokes around the idea of all types of misery, and seems to conquer everything before it is all said and done.
“Eggs” starts off with a twist of funk and some more of Arnold’s whit. He has a unique voice and diction, at times sounding like a sugary-sweet smartass (think the equivalent of a vocal Sour Head candy). He provokes you to listen to him, and the hook does just that – hooks you. “Nola” offers up some gritty blues and great insight into Ben’s emotion for the Crescent City. All in all Nevermind My Blues is another solid effort from the Ropeadope Records singer/songwriter (a first in the labels history).
Nevermind My Blues is out now on Ropeadope Records.
