Fresh from his latest studio release, Black Eye Galaxy, Anders Osborne stopped in at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, giving a piece of his soul –Â just as he seems to do at every live outing.
Black Eye Galaxy is an album that Honest Tune‘s Tim Newby referred to as “unflinchingly honest” and as “a musically adventurous beast” that “[leads] the listener on a brutally honest, painful journey from his past demons into his future.
The same can be said of Osborne’s live outings where he lets it all hang out. Through blistering guitar leads (from both Anders and badass Billy Iuso), sincere kinship kinship on stage (that is particularly evident between Osborne and bassist Carl Dufrene), guttural vocals and what appears to be a sincere desire to welcome the audience into whatever place that his crafty lyrical ability is trying to expose.
