Adam Hood stretches his songwriting talents on the forceful release, Different Groove.
Backed by the solid foundation of a well honed backup unit, Hood takes liberties with a tune like "Never Comes Easy," which picks up the pace with simmering melodies and intricate instrumentation. "Cars, Trucks and Me" delves into a biographical background, and Hood balances his with the rhythmic interplay between bassist Mark Thomas and drummer Josh Day. "Buzzes Like Neon" is happy go lucky radio fare, and keyboardist Michael Murphy and guitarist Pete Anderson stand front and center in the sound mix.
Produced and arranged by Anderson, Different Groove offers an alternative to middle-of-the-road contemporary adult playlists, and it announces the arrival of the talented compositional marvel and singer known as Adam Hood.
Different Groove is out now on Little Dog/Saguaro Road Records.
